Homework for ALL students: Read for at least 20 minutes, every night!

NOTICE! I embedded a NEW QUIZLET. It has all of the trimester one commonly misspelled  words on it .

The students and I continue to work on the construction of basic body paragraphs. We also have a day in the computer lab playing Quizlet trimester one Word Study review.

Students received the Word Study Tri. One REVIEW lists on Monday. There are 50 on it! The list reviews all of trimester one’s commonly misspelled words. The words will be tested on Thursday and the definition Friday.

Reading Skill

We are continuing to exploring the four ways to use context clues while we read. Students are now able (for the most part!) to find unfamiliar words and determine the meaning accurately! I will be testing that ever skill this week.

Under the heading, “Games” is a game labeled “Context Clues”. Playing this game will help to strengthen students’ ability to use context clues to better understand what they read.

New grades are added weekly. These grades are for participation and class preparedness. If a student has an ‘ex’ in the grade spot, they were absent or otherwise excused from the task. If there is a ‘0’, they were unprepared or did not participate in the class assignment.

PLEASE continue to encourage (make?) your child read at home. The only way to get better at something is to practice!
