Homework for ALL students: Read for at least 20 minutes every night!

Monday – I will be introducing the lessons for this week, and handing out Word Study 3.3 packets. Completed packets are due Friday. The spelling and definition test will be Friday as well.
Students need to complete the following by the end of the week.

1.      Complete a *Silly Persuasive essay that shows mastery of introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions. Students will need to work on their essay until they show mastery.

2.      Choose a research topic for our upcoming Research Paper unit.

3.      Gather researched information form SIRS to be used in writing a research paper.

4.      Complete the Word Study 3.3 pkt

5.      Pass the Word Study 3.3 spelling/definition test.

*During the week, a labeled rough draft Silly Persuasive paper that shows mastery, must be turned in.Students may not choose a topic for their research paper until they have mastered the parts of an essay. Mastery will be measured through their Silly Persuasive essay.

We continue to work on our comprehension skills through the writing of summaries and peer discussion.
