Language Arts
Homework for ALL students: Read for at least 20 minutes, every night!

This week we will be working on our Word Study 1.6. The Word Study list can be found on the right-hand side of the blog. As usual, the test will be on Friday and will cover both word spelling and definition.

Additionally, we are moving from Showing our Thoughts while Reading to using those notes to write a one page response to the article. I will be modeling the process for students, students will practice in pair/groups and finally (when they are ready), students will be asked to create a response on the article, Should Teens Trick-or-Treat?.

REMINDER: Word Study 1.6 TEST!!!!! is on FRIDAY.

Reading Skill

 It is exciting to see the growth in student’s reading abilities. Please keep up the good work!! 20 to 30 minutes of reading each night!

We are currently working story grammar and finding what is most important in a piece of fiction. I am currently modeling the process. We will work together in class on it and then students will be asked to complete the task on their own.
