I can hardly believe it the start of the second semester, but it is.
We will be working on Word Study 2.1 this week. (The entire 2nd semester's worth of Word Studies can be downloaded from the link on the right-hand side of this blog.) As usual, the test will be on Friday.
Authors often do not directly tell readers the characteristics of their characters. Context clues will be used in class this week to show how an author creates characters and how student can interpret the character's personality traits through context clues. Further, we are using the skill we learned last month to cite our sources and provide relevant details from the text to support our thinking.
While many student have finished their choice of novel, some are still reading. All novels must be completed by December 19th.
