7th Grade Research Instructions.

Prerequisites, information needed before you can begin your research = Answer the following question before going on the computer.

1.     What is your purpose? 

1.      To inform? – you will need general information about both topics. Your job is to teach the reader so that they can make a decision for themselves.

2.      To persuade? – you will need information about things both topics have in common, as well as, differences. Your job is to convince the reader to agree with your conclusions.

After I answer the above questions, what should I do next? 
* Use this  template

1. Conduct a search to find three, or more, sources which will support and provide 
   examples for your compare/contrast topic. 
2.  For each source,  record the following:

a.     a sources’ URL

b.     title of the web site/ article

c.      author (if there is one)

Restrictions:

You may not use Wikipedia as a source. You are welcome to use Wikipedia to find a source.
